The Jesuit Spiritual Center at Milford, Ohio, located east of Cincinnati, seeks a dynamic Executive Director. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Trustees and provides leadership, direction and supervision for all programs and activities at the Center.
A candidate must be a practicing Catholic, religiously qualified for public leadership in a work of the Catholic Church and the Society of Jesus. He or she should have a working knowledge of the principles and practices of spiritual development and spiritual direction, particularly of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola.
A bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the duties of the position is required. An advanced degree or education and training in spiritual direction are both desirable.
A candidate must have at least five to seven years of broad-based experience in collaborative and visionary leadership/managerial positions. Experience in religious organizations and/or retreat ministry is highly desirable. A general understanding of effective Development objectives and strategies is expected, and some actual fundraising experience is desirable.
Founded in 1928, the Jesuit Spiritual Center at Milford serves over 10,000 adult and youth retreatants annually at the three retreat houses and other facilities on its 37-acre site, and operates a growing ministry of virtual retreats.
