What is a Silent Ignatian Retreat Weekend?
The Jesuit Spiritual Center offers silent retreats rooted in The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. An experienced retreat director presents the materials on a particular theme, provides reflections on the Scriptures and offers methods of how to grow closer to our loving God.
With time for remembering, reflecting and praying, you will have the opportunity to explore how you choose to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ in your everyday life and make the Faith your own.
Weekend retreats include daily Mass, periods for private reflection and devotions, spiritual direction, and reconciliation and healing services. Silence is maintained between individuals so that each retreatant has time and space to connect.
What you can expect:
- Time for personal reflection and prayer, an oasis away from the pace and worries of everyday life, a time for growth in faith and a spiritual renewal.
- The retreat provides a time to orientate oneself through The Spiritual Exercises, to praise, reverence and be with our loving God.
- Contemplative silence provides the opportunity for each person to delve deeply into prayer, listening to God. At times the retreat director may provide optional opportunities for facilitated faith sharing.
- Discovering your own way of praying is an important outcome of the retreat. You will be asked to look at your relationship with God, with your own life experiences. Come join us for a Silent Ignatian Retreat Weekend and come to know the abundance of God’s love.
