A Married Couples Retreat

April 19 - 21, 2024

Integrating Ignatian spirituality, psychology, and ethics, along with the tools of art, writing, and music, David and Carrie Nantais will invite retreatants to discover the riches of their own marital journey. Mimicking the flow of married life, the retreatants (in both private and shared prayer and discussion) will engage the creative processes in their spiritual life, weaving the insights from their prayer and reflections to make their relationships stronger and more fruitful.

Retreat Directors:

David and Carrie Nantais

David and Carrie Nantais have felt blessed to be married to one another for 15 years! While they met in Cambridge, MA, they are both originally from the Detroit area and have lived in the city since 2008. They work collaboratively to co-parent their two boys while pursuing their professional lives. David works at Trinity Health System, earning his doctorate from Loyola Chicago in Bioethics. Carrie is a therapist, earning her doctorate from University of Detroit Mercy in clinical psychology. Prior to their current positions, both David and Carrie were intimately involved in theology (both have masters degrees there, also!) and social justice work for various Catholic organizations. Both David and Carrie were formed by Ignatian Spirituality and have used it extensively in their professional and personal lives.
