Men’s Thanksgiving Recovery Retreat:

Humility as the Foundation to Understanding God’s Will for Us

November 27 - 29, 2020

We are “right-sized” in Step 7. As we ask God to remove our shortcomings, we are emptied of self-entitlement, grandiosity, shame, regrets or unworthiness.  Step 11 challenges us to humbly seek God and understand God’s will for us, and to trust in God’s ongoing care.  These two steps form the foundation of our retreat.  Each person’s experience, strength and hope will enhance the time for all.

Fr. Del Staigers

Retreat Director

Fr. Del Staigers says, “Over the years I have realized that recovery and faith are part of the same journey toward meeting the God of our understanding.  The steps truly are a guide for living.”  Fr. Del grew up north of Cincinnati, in Yellow Springs, Ohio. His parents still live on the farm where he was raised while his two sisters moved to Arizona.  He was ordained for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in 1987.  Since then, he has pastored parishes in Dayton and taught Homiletics at the Athenaeum of Ohio/Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary of the West, and now serves two parishes in Cincinnati, having arrived at the St. Veronica Church in 2010 and St. John Fisher in 2017.
